Oven temp.probe

Well, my eyes and my age are against me. When doing my chicken yesterday I discovered that the long temp. prong in the back of the oven was hanging loose. It seems to have a little clip attached (with a hole). With my flash light I can see the hole that a screw would go into in the back panel of the oven. Would it be all right to use any screw that would fit? My husband isn't really into fixing stoves...v

Hi Ms.V, The Diastat tube is held to the rear of the oven with 2 small clips. They rust out over the many years. You should see 2 holes that the 2 clips snap into. Go to an appliance parts store and ask for oven thermostat tube clips. They will be about a buck each.

Ms V, the other hole should be in line horizonaly with the one you found. About 6 inches apart. Sorry, I've got no photos.

I 'see' (feel) where there is one clip. where would the other clip be positioned?

I feel the bracket at the back stove panel that prevents the shelf from sliding completely back and contacting the probe. (this is called Discovering my Oven)

Can anyone post a picture of what the back panel of the oven looks like with probe correctly positioned? I have a C 90. ...v
